The Mid-Atlantic Association of Museums (MAAM) is excited to bring you MAAM Encores—a virtual learning series. Each session offers practical insights, innovative strategies, and inspiring stories from across the museum field.
Storm King Art Center’s first capital project, opened in May 2025, expands the museum’s ability to enhance the visitor experience while protecting its art, landscape, and operations. Guided by a “build only what is necessary” approach, the project integrates essential facilities—parking, ticketing, restrooms, orientation, conservation, fabrication, and maintenance—while prioritizing seamless movement through the landscape.
The session brings together leaders from the client, project management, design, and systems teams to share how program clarity, accessibility standards, careful architectural and landscape design, and low-impact building systems supported a more sustainable, visitor-focused campus. Attendees will gain practical questions and strategies for using financial and spatial resources more effectively in museum projects.
Join colleagues from across the region (and beyond!) for interactive presentations, Q&A sessions, and opportunities to connect with peers—without leaving your desk. Whether you missed the original conference session at the 2026 Building Museums Symposium or want to dive deeper into the topic, Encores brings expert knowledge straight to you. Free for MAAM Members; Non-members: $25.
