Emily Kotecki is a museum learning consultant and podcaster based in Raleigh, North Carolina. She recently published a free, downloadable guide called The Distance Learning Workbook: A Launch Guide for Museums. She is also the host and producer of both the Microsoft Libraries and Museums Podcast and her own podcast, Museum Buzz.
Prior to consulting, she created award-winning distance learning programs and interpretive tools at the North Carolina Museum of Art.
Her career began in political journalism at The Washington Post, where she hosted daily political podcast and weekly show on XM-Sirius Radio. Emily holds a master’s degree in museum education from The George Washington University and a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism from American University.
Christine Campeau has been an educator with the Adirondack Experience, the Museum on Blue Mountain Lake (ADKX) for twenty-four years currently serving as School Programs Manager. Prior to 2020, Christine oversaw a highly successful school outreach program reaching thousands of students in their classrooms with engaging programs on local history and culture. The last year has provided an opportunity for the ADKX to pivot attention to distance learning programing and school programs staff has had the pleasure of working with experts in the field like Emily Kotecki to re-vision popular in person programs for digital delivery.
Christine did her undergraduate work at SUNY Potsdam and completed a Master’s program at Skidmore College on Place-based Education and Museum Interpretation. Highlights of her museum career have included collecting oral histories from people throughout the region on subjects from service in WWII to working in the mining industry.
